Cycling, walking and doing the garden Gym!

I'm not exactly sticking to my training schedule but I am doing quite a bit of exercising, which all goes towards keeping up my fitness!

I went to Spain for a week and whilst I was there I ran 3 times! I was quite impressed with myself. Having time on my hands definately helped though, as I didn't feel rushed into fitting it in.

Jogging in Spain was lovely because there wasn't much traffic. I managed to find a big hill to jog up (see photo) which definately made me puff and pant !!!!!!! And apart from tripping over a tree stump in the middle of the pavement and falling flat on my face, it was quite enjoyable.

I also managed a 2 hour walk.

And I've been to Rutland Water this weekend. I cycled from Stamford to Rutland (all uphill) and back (all downhill - hoorah!) and around Rutland Water. We worked out that we had covered over 30 miles. Rutland water is said to be a fairly even path but I can assure you that the path around it is quite undulating! And I cycled around it clockwise, into a headwind, whereas I found out afterwards that it's easier to go anti-clockwise! It was definately a really good workout - I'm still a bit sadle-sore!

On Monday I did an 8 mile walk, starting from Greetham Village (Rutland) and passing by Fort Henry. It was supposed to be a 7 mile walk, but they had moved the marker posts and it confused us so we had a bit of a diversion, ending up climbing over a wire fence to enter a wood in the general direction of where we thought we had to be going! Luckily enough, Andy used his noddle and got us back on track!

With under 3 weeks to go to the barn dance, I'm trying to get the money in for the tickets that haven't been given or paid for. I've also facebooked a few people to see if I can get a bit more sponsorship on the justgiving site.
