Ouch, my knee!

Training
Yesterday I went for a 7 mile walk around the Otford countryside with Andy that took us 3 1/2 hours (not including a stop at the Fox and Hounds for some soup). We stopped to look at Oak Hall (pictured) and also at a derelict house so that delayed us for about 10 minutes.

I am ahead of my training as my official training plan doesn't start until 26th April but I'm trying to do some walking as much as I can and a bit of swimming and jogging.

Last night my knee gave way though, and for a while I couldn't put any weight on it. It's a bit worrying to say the least! I'm going to have a look on-line for some knee-strengthening exercises and hope that they will help. I was going to swim this morning but thought it was probably best to rest it today.

Barn Dance
I put a poster up in the local shop (just by the village hall) in Pratts Bottom. The man was very kind and put it in the window free of charge. A friend of mine works in the Trophy shop next to Orpington Station and he put a poster in there for me and I had a call from a guy who saw it and wants 2 tickets. 41 tickets are now spoken for. I also put a flyer up in the post office in Locksbottom which will go in the window today (Monday).

Collection at Tesco
I'm looking forward to the collection at Tesco in Orpington on Friday. I can't wait to see how much it will raise. Jane is going to help me set up, Carole is going to come and help in the afternoon and hopefully Sonya will be able to help for an hour in the morning. Andy suggested that I make a board with some information about my fundraising on it,(my newspaper articles, a picture of Kili etc) which I think is an excellent idea. Jane has a board I can borrow so I'll pick that up from her today.

Press Coverage

I was extremely pleased that Luke from the Bromley Borough News has put me on the front page again. The lady who lives opposite me saw it and made a donation. We're now talking on email which is nice as in the past we have just said hello and got on with rushing to wherever it is we are late for!

Raffle
I received the tickets for my treatment raffle. I've sold a few but am not pushing them at the moment as I want to sell the barn dance tickets first.
