Well, it's done now! The Tickets are sold, the numbers are in and the food has been bought. The BARN DANCE is tomorrow night and its now in the lap of the Gods!
I had trouble selling the tickets to this event, and I spent so many hours googling for local groups and people who may be interested, and I've been so stressed over it that it gave me shingles!
BUT... I'm happy to say that I have 90 people coming now, and I'm getting quite excited about it. To be honest, I think 90 will be an ample amount and I'm looking forward to seeing some people I haven't seen for a while.

I've bought 4 cowboy hats to decorate the hall with, at a pound each! I have 'cowboy boot' confetti and I bought a checked dress from the charity shop for a fiver!
FUNDRAISING
It's defiantely getting there. I think I'll be up to about £4k with the barn dance, and hopefully the raffle will bring in a good amount. I have lots of stuff to sell at Chelsfield Village Fete on the 10th of July, including aromatherapy items and chldrens books - but I'll think about that when the barn dance is over!
TRAINING
This week I swam 2,000 metres (not bad cos I haven't been for ages) and ran 4 miles. I'm not too worried about training at the moment because on Sunday I'm going to Austria on a walking holiday in the Dachstein Alps. Each day can be quite challenging if we chose it to be, with one day climbing higher than Snowdon and another day climbing higher then Ben Nevis. We have options to do easier walks some days, but either way it'll be great training for Kilimanjaro.

Although, it's not until you sign up that you get the detailed itinary! For 'challenging' read 'CHALLENGING!'

On some of the days we have to walk to our next hotel, so we don't have much option but to do it! I'm so looking forward to it, but also a bit apprehensive as I haven't really broken in my new boots yet. Also, I think that if we choose to do all of the difficult routes, it could be as challenging as The Great Wall of China Trek last year! Maybe. Only not as hot! I'll let you know! I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to go to Austria and do this week of walking in the Dachstein Alps!

The view from Hoher Kalmber, one of the mountains we'll climb in Austria. Looks pretty high up to me!
Anyway, I'm now looking foward to the Barn Dance, and the holiday and I'll get back to you with an update in a few weeks!
ta ta for now!
