Barn Dace was Great and so was the Training !

YEE HAH !!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, the Barn Dance went swingingly! Here's a video of it, although there's no sound, sorry. It's a shame because the band (The Truss and Bucket) were AMAZING!

Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves and lots of people dressed the part. I took 2 books of raffle tickets and they all sold out, making over £200 on the raffle alone. Stuart auctioned a supercar experience for me on the night and that was won by my next door neighbour, making £205. All in all, the barn dance made just over £900 towards my target figure of £5k.

TRAINING

Well, I couldn't get much better training than a weeks walking in the Dachstein Alps in Austria!

Under the fabulous guidance of Andy, I climbed the first mountain to 1278 metres on Monday (higher than Snowdon which is 1085 metres)and then another mountain on Tuesday to an even higher elevation - higher than Ben Nevis, which is 1344 metres. We had an easy day on Wednesday, climbed as high again on Thursday and then on Saturday we did the longest and highest and toughest day of all - starting at 9am in the morning with a steep 3 hour climb before resting for lunch, then more of the same until the summit at 1975 metres! It was a proper BIG day!The views this day were amazing as you can imagine, but the walk took us steeply down for hours and we landed at the bottom of the mountain at 7.30pm! My legs were shaking, the soles of my feet were hurting and I'd totally had enough of that mountain! However, it's gonna be tougher than that on summit day, so it's good to get a fair taster of what it could be like!
